My Story

For two decades, I've been building worlds – not of bricks and mortar, but of learning experiences that spark curiosity, ignite creativity, and leave impressions on minds. My first canvas of experiences was intensely fast-moving as I navigated the cutting-edge realm of EdTech and STEAM education. I championed revolutionary 3D printer, design and robotics technology for the classroom, witnessing firsthand the transformative power of educational technology, a power that fueled a fire within me to make learning about these technologies easier for educators and their students.

I explored the frontiers of 3D printing, transforming pixels into tangible art objects. My creations and teacher training expertise led me to a collaborative project with Intel at the Portland Art Museum to showcase my Rodin 3D print recreation, blurring the lines between technology and artistry. This wasn't just about the design process to create 3D-printed objects; it was about pushing boundaries, proving that imagination has no borders.

But learning craved expression beyond wearing the hats of EdTech business development and professional development course creation. I enrolled at UArts to complete a master's in Educational Program Design, where I could thrive by going deep into how learning works for arts education. I also stepped more into the dance studio, my second home since childhood and where movement has always been my first language. Drawing from a lifelong journey as a dancer and dance teacher, I was inspired to focus on a dance curriculum capstone with literacy intertwined. With each step of determination to design a revamped curriculum, I became more centered in my life's calling and was thrilled to receive a design award from UArts upon my graduation. My work proved that bodies, like minds, can be vibrant vessels of understanding and that writing as a discipline has value within the rigor of dance. Writing also has a rich context to express the inner world of a dancer intrinsically, whether playfully or seriously contemplating what dance means. I'm also working on a book that tells the story of my dance identity intertwined with my Hispanic heritage and how this has shaped my life.

Today, I leverage my diverse skillset as an education consultant specialist for a higher-ed publisher. Here, I wear the magician's hat, crafting learning experiences for a variety of clients as a freelancer. My courses are infused with inclusivity, UDL principles, effective assessments, and the boundless joy of creativity. My mission? To create meaningful learning experiences that gives any learner a sense of purpose and the desire to continue to want to understand new things because it makes them happy.
